Gobo and logo projection

Often at corporate events, a company would like their logo to be prominent as the company itself is sponsoring the entire event. The logo or any wording can be static or rotating around the whole venue. It can be projected onto stage whilst a performance is in progress or it can add the décor or theme of a function.

Lighting is absolutely necessary in any production because most events are held at night or in a dark room. Basic lighting can be used to light up a podium where a speaker may speak from, or just to light up an area of interest. If you want to create a nice atmosphere on stage, then you need to use intelligent or moving lights as they are often called. These complex machines can move, change colours and project complex shapes or custom gobo's all at the same time. Selby's has some of the best lighting technology available. Whatever your lighting requirement may be, contact Selby's and let us advise and supply you the correct lighting for your event or conference.

Concert lighting

The type of lighting we supply for a concert depends on a lot of aspects. For example, the size of the stage will depend on how much lighting equipment will be required to light up the whole stage. Secondly, different types of concerts require different lighting. A popular rock band will require a lot of movement and colour to set the mood on stage, while an orchestra will just require a general wash over the whole stage area so the audience can see everyone.

Special effect lighting

Special effect lighting can be used to create a mood or ambiance in the room or on stage. Smoke effects are used to enhance the lighting's colours or shapes. Intelligent lighting is used for this as the position, size and shape can be controlled from one place and changed instantly. For example if a company's colours are green and blue, these colours can be used to fill up the entire venue as people walk in.

Theatre and stage lighting

Generally we use parcans for this kind of lighting, but intelligent lighting is being used more and more in today's productions. The name par-can got its name from the type bulb (Par) that was put into a metal housing that represented a can (can). The globes come in different makes. The most commonly used globes being a Par56 or Par64. The metal housing has a bracket in front for attaching a frame that holds a gel. A gel is a transparent colour plastic sheet. There are many different types and colours depending on the effect required. Parcans need to be set-up, gelled then fixed into place where they will be set for the event.

Gobo and logo projection

A gobo is a small metal or glass disk with an image cut-out or etched onto it. This disk can be installed into certain lighting fixtures to project the image on the gobo.

Often at corporate events, a company would like their logo to be prominent as the company itself is sponsoring the entire event. The logo or any wording can be static or rotating around the whole venue. It can be projected onto stage whilst a performance is in progress or it can add the décor or theme of a function. Only intelligent scanners can be used for this application as they allow you to install a custom gobo into their gobo wheel. Selby's can arrange for any type of custom gobos to be produced.

Décor lighting

Often a large amount of money is spent on décor for an event. Being inside a dark room means that no one will be able to see it if it is not lit up. Parcans can be used and placed to light up various areas that have décor or special importance. Often lighting is placed inside to add or enhance certain areas of the décor.
